President’s Message April, 2024 

It came as no surprise that the Arizona Supreme Court ruled against a woman’s right to choose. Our topic last week at the membership meeting was timely and this ruling emphasizes the importance of the ERA becoming published by the National Archives. Signatures are still being collected for the Reproductive rights/abortion referendum until July 3, 2024 to ensure it is on the November ballot. If you are a registered voter in Arizona and have not had the opportunity to sign the referendum, please email or call us and we will provide you with a contact person. Many of you have asked about volunteer opportunities for the November election. 

Patti Hoffert from LD28 will be our speaker at the September meeting and she will be sharing the many ways that volunteers will be needed from stuffing envelopes to literature drops, phone banking, texting, etc. We are looking forward to having Patti come to the meeting! Some of our members are getting ready to head to cooler climates for the summer. We hope you will be able to join us on Zoom for our upcoming meetings. All of them will have important and timely information leading up to the very important November elections. As our July meeting falls on the 4th, we will not have a meeting that night and encourage you all to enjoy the fireworks, family and friends! We will have our regularly scheduled meeting in August.
