President’s Message

As we are fighting for our democracy on an almost daily basis, we must also begin to prepare for the mid-term elections now only 18 months away. We will
be inviting candidates for both federal and local elections to speak at our monthly meetings while also inviting speakers to help us stay informed and
active at a state and national level. SCDC will also be holding elections in November for three very important positions that are vital to the running of the
club. In order to fill those positions, we need volunteers from the membership to be on the nominating committee. This is an important, though, short term
commitment that will help nominate members to serve starting in January.

The three positions are:

1. President – The president presides at all club meetings, directs the activities
of the club’s Executive Board; communicates with the RCSC’s club officer,
and assures that the club’s rules and regulations are updated and officially
recorded.
2. Vice- President – The vice-president presides in the absence of the president
and shall perform such duties as required.
3. Program – The program board member is responsible for arranging programs
for the membership meetings in conjunction with other board members and
committees as appropriate.

Please, seriously consider being on the Nomination Committee and also to volunteer for one of the board member positions that will be up in January. We
cannot function as a strong club, essential in this time in our history, without volunteers assuming these positions.
You may contact any board member for more information or to volunteer for the nominating committee.
