President’s Message

Your phone calls are working! Thousands of people are calling daily. I have heard from several people that they aren’t able to get through to speak directly or leave a message on Senators Kelly and Gallego or Congressman Hamadeh’s office phones. I have been successful in actually speaking to a person at Hamadeh’s D.C. office but have also been greeted with voicemail at all three offices. I am not sure if the local offices are easier to get through, but it is worth a try. The phone numbers of all three of our representatives are posted on the website and in this newsletter. You can call directly or call the D.C. switchboard and they will connect you to the appropriate office. I have also left messages at the Speaker of the House’s office and the Oversight Committee Chair (James Comer) as a citizen, not a constituent in their district. You can use 5call.org if you prefer, which will provide you with a script on certain topics. I usually call directly with written notes to help me stay focused. It is important to also acknowledge when a Senator or a member of Congress has done something positive, regardless of the state they represent. They need to hear from us!

Besides phone calls, lawsuits are being filed daily, this is so important to slow down the barrage of layoffs, executive orders and illegal measures that are being taken by the administration.

We will be hosting an Open House for anyone interested in finding out more about the Democratic Club from 5:00 – 6:00pm, prior to our April 3^rd meeting. They will also be invited to stay and attend our meeting following our social time at 6:00. All members are invited to join us anytime between 5 and 6 to greet and welcome interested Sun City residents.
